STUDENT BUILDER ONBOARDING GUIDE

SUMMARY

Submitting your project to LaunchPad takes less than 5 minutes. Below is a quick summary of what you need and what you get:

  • Who Can Submit: All enrolled BSIT and BSDS students at BulSU Sarmiento Campus.
  • What You Keep: 100% intellectual property ownership of your code, hardware schematics, and assets.
  • What You Receive: An active builder profile (/u/[username]), permanent project showcase URL (/project/[category]/[slug]), and eligibility for term merch awards.
  • What to Prepare: A 16:9 banner, 1:1 square app icon, 1-sentence callout, tech stack tags, and working demo/repo link.

STEP 01: SIGN IN & CLAIM YOUR BUILDER HANDLE

You do not need a new password. Sign in using either of the following supported pathways:

  • Google OAuth (Personal): Fast 1-click sign-in using your personal Gmail. Your handle is automatically derived from your Google name.
  • BulSU Microsoft 365 (Institutional): Magic link email sent directly to your @ms.bulsu.edu.ph address. Student numbers are automatically concealed from public view.

Once signed in, visit your Member Dashboard to customize your display name, bio, and social links.

STEP 02: PREPARE YOUR PROJECT ASSETS

To ensure your project stands out on the directory and detail page, assemble the following assets:

  • App Icon (1:1 Ratio): Square icon (minimum 128x128px, PNG or WebP). Pixel art, vectorized logos, or clean app emblems work best.
  • Cover Banner (16:9 or 3:1 Ratio): High-resolution header banner that spans across the top of your project page.
  • Elevator Callout: A crisp, punchy one-liner (maximum 120 characters) explaining what your build accomplishes.
  • Tech Stack Tags: Select languages and frameworks used (e.g. Next.js, Python, Arduino, PyTorch, Flutter, Tailwind).
  • Screenshots (Up to 5): High-resolution screenshots or hardware photos showing your application in action.

STEP 03: CHOOSE YOUR TRACK & SUBMIT

In your Dashboard, click Submit Project:

  • Select Track: Choose Personal for solo hacker projects, or Team for collaborative capstone builds.
  • Credit Team Members: Search and link fellow BulSU student makers by their username handle, or enter guest contributors by name.
  • Consent to Publish: Confirm that the submission complies with university academic integrity standards and that you grant LaunchPad permission to showcase the build.

STEP 04: ELITES TECHNICAL REVIEW

After submission, your project status is set to Pending Review:

  • ELITES Organization student technical reviewers evaluate live repository links, inspect visual assets, and confirm authentic student authorship, typically within 1 to 2 business days.
  • Review decisions (Approved, Changes Requested, or Rejected) and feedback notes are updated directly on your dashboard.
  • Once Approved, your project goes live immediately on the public directory, ready to receive community favorites!
